Wular Lake lies in the Bandipora district of Jammu & Kashmir at about 1,580 m, 60 km from Srinagar and 10 km from Bandipora — the large lake of the region, its 30-km stretch, the houseboats and the birds set on the Jhelum river's basin.

History & culture

The lake's story runs with the 1957 spillway era — the large lake of the 1957-era spillway and the 14th-century-era canal life of the Zain-ul-Abidin era, with the lake's modern role as the nature stop of the Kashmir circuit and the home of the houseboats and the birds and the 2000s-era boat rides; the lake's history of the 1980s-era reed life and the water paths, gives Wular its lake character.
