Geography & terrain

Tulail lies in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir at about 2,700 m, 170 km from Srinagar and 30 km from Gurez — the meadow valley of the region, its pastoral grounds, the villages and the treks set on the Kishanganga valley.

History & culture

The valley's story runs with the 2000s reopening era — the meadow valley of the pastoral grounds and the 2000s-era reopening of the trek life, with the valley's modern role as the trek stop of the Gurez circuit and the home of the pastoral grounds and the village lanes and the 2010s-era camps; the valley's history of the 1990s-era closures and the shepherd life, gives Tulail its meadow character.
