Tirthan Valley lies in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh at about 1,700 m, 200 km from Delhi and 40 km from Aut — the trout valley of the region, its river, the trails and the villages set on the Great Himalayan park's edge.

History & culture

The valley's story runs with the 1984 park era — the trout valley of the Tirthan river and the 1984-era park of the Great Himalayan National Park, with the valley's modern role as the nature stop of the Kullu circuit and the home of the 1984-era park and the trout corners and the 2000s-era homestays; the valley's history of the 2014 UNESCO listing and the trek trails, gives Tirthan its trout character.
