Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve spreads across the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra's Vidarbha — 1,727 km² of teak forest on the banks of the Erai river, with the Tadoba lake at its heart.

History & culture

Named after the tribal god Tadoba (worshipped by the Gond people) and the Andhari river, the reserve was declared in 1935 — Maharashtra's oldest national park.
