The hill's story runs with the 14th-century fort era — the monolith hill of the 14th-century-era fort and the 1791-era battles of the Tipu era, with the hill's modern role as the trek stop of the Bengaluru circuit and the home of the 4,000-feet rock and the 14th-century-era walls and the Narasimha temple; the hill's history of the 2015-era trek trail and the sunset decks, gives Savandurga its monolith character.
