Saptashrungi lies in the Nashik district of Maharashtra at about 1,340 m, 50 km from Nashik and 45 km from Vani — the Devi hill of the region, its Saptashrungi temple, the 500 steps and the views set on the Sahyadri's ridge.
History & culture
The hill's story runs with the 18th-century temple era — the Devi hill of the Saptashrungi temple and the 18th-century-era shrine of the Shakti tradition, with the hill's modern role as the pilgrimage of the Nashik circuit and the home of the 18th-century-era temple and the 500 steps and the lion vehicle statue; the hill's history of the 1960s-era road and the Navratri fairs and the valley views, gives Saptashrungi its Devi-hill character.
