The village's story runs with the 18th-century village era — the heritage village of the 18th-century lanes and the 1997 heritage-village listing (the first of the India), with the village's modern role as the slow stop of the Himachal circuit and the home of the painted-wall houses and the 18th-century-era kothis and the organic farms; the village's history of the 2002 heritage awards and the Judge's court of the colonial era, gives Pragpur its heritage-village character.
