Parambikulam Tiger Reserve lies in the Palakkad district of Kerala, 90 km from Palakkad and 300 km from Kochi — the treetop park of the region, its tiger reserve, the dams and the wildlife set on the Anamalai corridor.

History & culture

The reserve's story runs with the 1973 tiger protection — the Parambikulam of the 1973 Project Tiger and the 2009 tiger reserve of the state, with the reserve's modern role as the wildlife stop of the Kerala circuit and the home of the 2006 teak tree (the tallest of the Asia) and the tree-top huts; the reserve's history of the Kuriarkutti tribes and the 2010 UNESCO biosphere edge, gives the reserve its treetop character.
