The town's story runs with the medieval era — the town of the 15th-century Jal Mahal and the tombs of the Lodi-era nobles, with the town's modern role as the heritage stop of the Haryana circuit and the home of the 16th-century Chhotu Shah's tomb and the Chor Gumbad; the town's history of the 1504 tomb of the Ibrahim Suri and the Mirza Ali Khan's baoli, gives Narnaul its tomb-town character.
