Lodurva lies in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, 16 km from Jaisalmer and 620 km from Jaipur — the ancient Jain town of the region, its carved temples, the ruins and the legend set on the Thar's edge.

History & culture

The town's story runs with the 8th–13th century Jain building — the old capital of the Bhatti rulers before the Jaisalmer's founding and the Jain temples of the Parshvanath and the Rishabhanath, with the town's modern role as the heritage stop of the Jaisalmer circuit and the home of the carved-village legend of the curse; the town's history of the desert trade and the abandoned temples, gives Lodurva its Jain-town character.
