Devikulam lies in the tea country of the Idukki district in Kerala, 16 km from Munnar and 10 km beyond Pallivasal — a small hill station of the high ghats, its Devikulam lake and the plantations' slopes set at about 1,800 metres.
History & culture
The hill's story runs with the legend of the Pandava princess Sita bathing in the Devikulam lake of the hills; the British-era tea plantations of the Pallivasal surround the settlement, with the town's ghat-road growth of the Munnar circuit giving Devikulam its tea-country life.
