Chorla ghat lifts the road from Goa's interior into the Western Ghats' forests at the state's eastern border with Karnataka and Maharashtra, 35 km from Ponda and 50 km from Panaji — a rain-forest saddle of the Mhadei wildlife country, its bird trails set among the damp greenery.
