Chomu Palace rises from the town of Chomu, 35 km north of Jaipur on the Sikar road — the 18th-century Kachwaha palace of the Chomu thikana, its grand courtyards and painted verandahs set in the Shekhawati border country.

History & culture

The Kachwaha nobles of Chomu built their palace-residence in the 1700s upon the Mughal-era governor's house — the family's chambers, the durbar and the painted walls recording the thikana's century; converted into a heritage hotel, the palace's colonnades and lawns now hold the Jaipur trip's quiet royal stay.
